In my opinion these 5 highlighters you need to try (above) are essentials for the perfect makeup look. If you aren’t wearing highlighter your look just isn’t complete. I know for some people, they think highlighting causes them to look “wet” or “too shiny”. If your highlighter is making you look wet then you are not using the right one. Using the right highlighter should make your cheek bones pop and really make them stand out. Personally if you cannot see my highlighter from space then I am not wearing enough. Highlighting is also something that takes time to get good at. There is such a thing of too much highlight. Highlighting is not meant to be applied to your entire face. The 5 highlighting products that I am going to talk about are my go to highlighters. They apply beautifully and look good on almost all skin tones. Each of them are very affordable and you can get them at either Sephora or Ulta.

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter – Champagne Pop. This product might be the Holy Grail of highlighters. If I had to pick my all time favorite highlighter it would be this one. I am sure I am not the only one who thinks this too. The coloring in this highlighter looks good on every skin tone that I have all year round. The formula is creamy, applies beautifully, and blends nicely. The great thing about this highlighter is that if you are a beginner in makeup and just want a slight touch of highlight, you can achieve that with this product. On this other hand if you want your highlighter to shine bright like a diamond, this product layers so evenly to achieve that look also.
MAC Extra Dimension Skinfinish- Soft Fresh. I love this highlighter! Especially, when I know that I am going to be outside or somewhere where there will be a lot of light on my face. This certain highlighter reflects different colors depending on the angle of your face in the light. It also changes the amount of shine depending on how much light that is being shined onto your face. With its prismatic reflections is brings light and color to your face. This highlighter may not look super bright when you first apply it, but it’s fun to see the different colors shine when in the sunlight.
Kylie Cosmetics Loose Powder Highlighter- Tahiti. Kylie’s highlighters is one of the most beautiful highlighters I have used. You don’t need much to apply, which makes the container last forever. The highlighter is bright, bold, and the perfect amount of shine to it. Which is basically all I am looking for in a highlighter. The loose powder can get a little messy which is its only downfall. Since it is a loose powder though, it applies to the skin beautifully. Her other loose powder colors are also gorgeous but the Tahiti color is by far my favorite.
Fenty Beauty by Rihanna- Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter. Rihanna is making a breakthrough in the makeup industry and I am all about it! Her highlighters being my favorite part of her collection. The Trophy Wife color is this beautiful gold color that she created. I can only wear this highlighter when I am tan, which is pretty much all year round let’s be honest. It looks like I have this natural golden tan sheen on my cheeks. Fenty Beauty may be a newer brand but all of her products I have tried have been amazing! Also come on, everyone needs a GOOD gold highlighter in their makeup collection!
Wet n Wild MegaGlo Highlighting Powder. For a drugstore highlighter this powder is BOMB! My two favorite colors from Wet n Wild are Blossom Glow and Precious Petals. Precious Petals has more of a tan undertone while Blossom Glow has more of a lighter pink undertone, both of which are stunning on. This formula Wet n Wild has created is so impressive. For anyone who wants good makeup for an inexpensive price these are the highlighters for you. They give this subtle glow that I need when I am just wearing my everyday makeup. I hope they keep continuing making even more amazing products because I will keep buying from them!
