Second stop, 1 day in Seville Spain. We took a high speed train from Madrid to Seville. It only took us about 2 hours to arrive at the station. This was by far one of my favorite cities. The atmosphere and ambiance was so romantic. It was the perfect city to spend with my husband. We stayed in this AirBnb that was down an alleyway called the “kissing alleyway”. They named it this because the balconies outside of the apartments were so close that you could reach over and kiss the person in the balcony across from you. I honestly could have walked around all the small alleyways, finding little shops and cafes all day. I wish we could have stayed in Seville the longest. We only stayed one night there and I am totally regretting it. I guess that just means we will have to go back. We visited Spain in the end of June early July and the weather was gorgeous. It never rained once. Even though I brought an umbrella everywhere we went just in case. The sun was hot though! Bringing a hat was my saving grace. We walked everywhere. Which was good because I kept stuffing my face with tapas and wine. To here about our next stop make sure you read the posts on Granada and Barcelona!

The Best Things We Saw For Our 1 Day In Seville
The Real Alcazar This was the one place I was most excited to visit in Seville. The Real Alcazar is the oldest royal palace in Europe that is still in use. It is also where Drone was filmed in Game of Thrones. If you are a Game of Thrones fan, like me, this will get you really pumped. The Palace shows the Moorish architecture that is also spread all over Seville. The gardens of the Alcazar were absolutely beautiful. It is hard not to spend hours just walking through the many gardens that surrounded the palace. I am pretty sure we took at least 100 photos just at this spot. But make sure you buy your tickets ahead of time or else you will be waiting in a terribly long line!
Plaza De Espana We walked our way to this attraction mid afternoon and let me just tell you, I don’t know if I have ever been so hot. Even though I felt like I was melting I was so glad we got to come see place. The plaza is located in Parque de Maria Luisa. The building is massive with such an unique architecture. I loved the bridge that crossed over the little pond that was in front of the building. We couldn’t go into the building but walking around the balcony, there are many people playing instruments and dancing.
Seville Cathedral- The Cathedral is located in Barrio Santa Cruz neighborhood. This cathedral was so large I could hardly get a good picture of it. It is located right in the center of Seville. It is actually the largest cathedral in the World! You could pay for tickets to go inside and see part of it but when we were there it was closed and under construction. I was a little bumped we could’t go inside but just walking around it was fascinating. The Torre Giralda is the bell tower connected to the cathedral where you can go to the top and see a view of the city. The cathedral was very close to the Real Alcazar so we didn’t have to go far to see it.
Torre del Oro- This structure is know as “The Gold Tower”. It was built back in the 13th century. It is one of the most photographed monuments in Seville. A lot of people climb to the top to see some really pretty views of the city. We didn’t want to wait in line or pay the money so we just took pictures from the ground. The structure is located along the Guadalquivir River. We walked all down this river and crossed the bridge called Puente de Isabel II into Triana. Triana is a cute neighborhood across the river that has a lot of restaurants and shops.
Where We Ate In Seville, Spain
Again, I feel like you can never go wrong with any of the food places in Spain. We had no recommendations of places to eat. Everything that I read kept saying that all the cafes in Seville were good. We decided to just pick places that looked cute and had outdoor seating. The other thing about eating in Spain is you actually don’t eat dinner till about 10pm. Everyone there eats so late compared to the United States. We had to eat snacks all day so we could make it to dinner.
El Rincon de Murillo- This was an adorable little restaurant that was right outside our AirBnb. It was nudged in the middle of a bunch of buildings and walkways. We sat outside and literally just people watched as we ate. Jake ordered way too many tapas like he normally does. So, by the time we had to leave we had two full plates that had just a bite out of them. But everything looked so good, we wanted it all!
El Pasaje Tapas– We ended up eating here for dinner and thoroughly enjoyed it. We got some tapas to share along with a bottle of wine. Since we eat so late, sitting outside for dinner is so nice because there is not hot sun. The only issue with sitting outside in the dark is that I almost fall asleep every time! I felt so old in Spain because by the time we go to dinner I was already wanting to go to bed.
